Friday, March 8

Hendrick Hudson Yakety Yak Book Discussion: 4:15 p.m. Discuss the book "My Father's Dragon" by Ruth Stiles Gannett while enjoying a snack.  Register and get your free book. For more information, call (914) 739-5654. Hendrick Hudson Free Library, 185 Kings Ferry Road, Montrose.

Croton Academy Of Comedic Arts Comedy Show: 8 p.m. The free comedy show features several CACA students performing improve and sketches. Baked By Susan will provide a snack bar. Croton Academy of Arts, 8 Old Post Road South, Croton-on-Hudson.

Hendrick Hudson Library Art Exhibit: All day. The Hendrick Hudson Free Library presents the March Art Exhibit “Inspiration 2013.” Works by Hendrick Hudson School District students, and will be located in the Community Room. Indian Point Groups Host Fukushima Fallout: Noon. Former Navy navigators on the USS Ronald Reagan Jaime Plym and Maurice Enis will tell their story at the Croton Harmon Train Station. They will be joined by Peace Walkers on the 12th Annual Walk for a New Spring. The Walkers will continue from Croton to Indian Point, the intersection of Bleakley and Broadway in Buchanan, for a vigil at the gates of Indian Point at approximately 3:15 pm.  All are welcome. Croton Harmon Train Station, 1 Croton Point Ave., Croton on Hudson. 

Indian Point Fukushima Vigil: 3:15 p.m. A vigil at the gates of Indian Point, Bleakley and Broadway, Buchanan.  Those attending are asked to arrive early and be ready to greet the Peace Walkers as they arrive from Croton at approximately 3:30 pm. Buddhist nun Jun San will orchestrate the program and all are invited to participate.  Those who gather at Indian Point are asked to offer rides back to the Croton train station to those who walked. Indian Point Energy Center, Broadway Street and Bleakley Avenue, Buchanan.

Game Design Workshop: 11:30 a.m. 3rd Universe Comics present a weekly game design workshop. Classes run until May 12. For more information or to register, residents are asked to call (914)-827-3600. 3rd Universe Comics, 35 North Riverside Ave., Croton-on-Hudson.

The Buchanan St. Patrick’s Day Parade: 2 p.m. This year’s parade Grand Marshal is Andy Cody.  The parade begins on Tate Avenue and Burke Court, continues down Tate Avenue to the Village Circle where it turns onto Westchester Avenue. The parade ends at the Buchanan Veterans Pavilion. Tate Avenue, Buchanan.

Sugaring Sunday at Teatown: 1 to 3 p.m.  Stoke up the fire, it’s sugaring time at Teatown! From tapping to collecting, boiling to bottling, Teatown’s naturalists will be in Warren’s Sugar House sharing facts and folklore about this sweet time of year! One hour tours begin at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Teatown Lake Reservation, 1600 Spring Valley Road, Ossining.
