CROTON-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Dark clouds early in the day threatened to put a damper on Saturday’s Croton-On-Hudson Fun Fall Festival, but the rain stayed away and allowed Croton residents to enjoy a street fair, a concert and an outdoor movie showing.

The village of Croton and the Croton Business Council closed off Old Post Road and Vassallo Park allowing local organizations and merchants to set up booths along the street.

The Fabulous Sixties Band then took to the park stage around 4 p.m. The band had been scheduled to perform twice over the summer at Senaqua Park, but was rained out both times.

“So as their make-up, they’re going to play today,” said Croton Arboretum member Marc Cheshire.

The evening was capped off when the Recreation and Parks Department showed the football movie “Rudy” on an outdoor screen at Vassallo Park.
