Fatal Hit-Run: 17-Year-Old Struck By Drunk Driver In New York, Police Say A 67-year-old man faces numerous felony charges after fleeing the scene of a crash in New York that left a teenage boy dead, police said.  Sullivan County resident Thomas Piatt, age 67, of Bethel, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31 for his role in a crash that left a 17-year-old Cochecton resident dead, according to state police.  At the time of the incident, around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, state police responded to Route 17B in Bethel on a report of a fatal crash. Suspects On Run After Armed Carjacking In Region A Hudson Valley man was carjacked and robbed at gunpoint while attempting to sell his car. The incident took place in Orange County in the town of Newburgh on Tuesday, May 17. The carjacking took place after a 21-year-old man from Fishkill had advertised his 2018 Dodge Charger for sale on Facebook Marketplace, said Chief Donald Campbell, of the town of Newburgh Police. A prospective buyer contacted the man and they arranged to test drive the vehicle. Two men showed up at the meeting spot and they test drove the vehicle on I-84, Campbell said.
