The department, which has 162 officers and two dozen civilian workers, costs the town $50 million, lohud.com reported.
The Town Board is expected to vote Tuesday, April 5, on hiring the Pittsford-based Bonadio Group for close to $100,000 to conduct a 90-day study of the department, said to be the one of the highest paid in the state, lohud.com said.
Supervisor George Hoehmann says the town could apply for state grants to help it with the cost of the study, lohud.com said.
