CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- The Medicare Annual Election Period ends Dec. 7.

Are you eligible now or in the near future? Are you already on Medicare and want to learn more about the program? Are you helping a family member navigate the Medicare landscape?

Find out what you need to know at free seminar on Friday, Nov. 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Rockland County Fire Training Center, 35 Firemen's Memorial Drive in Pomona.

The program will cover a variety of topics including upcoming changes to Medicare Part A and Part B benefits in 2016, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplemental insurance.

"Medicare is a critical program and understanding what it offers helps assure that all those eligible get the health benefits they deserve," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day

The seminar is designed to help Medicare recipients evaluate the best options for them. It will also detail the resources available to certain individuals to help reduce or eliminate the Part D premium and lower cost-sharing requirements.

All adults may attend. Registration is required. Contact Sharon Ryan, Rockland County Office for the Aging, at RyanS@co.rockland.ny.us or call her at (845)-364-2118.
