Donald Trump's Sister Dies At 86 In New York
The elder sister of former President Donald J. Trump has died while in hospice care in New York, a source with direct knowledge told Daily Voice early Monday morning, Nov. 13. Maryanne Trump Barry, a Queens native and retired federal judge, died over the weekend from cancer while in hospice care in New York City, the source said. She was 86. Barry became an Assistant US Attorney in 1974 and was appointed to the US District Court for the District of New Jersey by the late President Ronald Reagan in 1983. Violent Crime Down Across NY Compared To Last Year, New Report Shows
New York state is seeing fewer incidents of violent crime, according to a new report. Data from the first comprehensive overview of crime trends across the state showed a six-percent drop in violent crime outside of New York City during the first half of 2023 compared to the first six months of 2022, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday, Nov. 9. The data, which was collectively reported by police departments and sheriffs’ offices in 57 counties, showed decreases in each of the four violent crime categories. Recall Expands For Brand Of Mirrors Due To Laceration Hazard
IKEA is expanding a recall of a brand of mirrors due to a laceration hazard. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the plastic fittings of the recalled IKEA LETTAN mirrors that attach to the wall can break, causing the mirror to fall, posing the risk of laceration to consumers. The initial recall for about 22,400 mirrors was issued Thursday, March 16. On Thursday, Nov. 9, IKEA announced another 14,600 mirrors are now being recalled.
