A New York father called 911 to report that he had been stabbed moments before he died early Monday morning, Sept. 7, police said. Edward Brown called authorities at approximately 12:30 a.m. from his apartment at 73 Mastic Blvd. in Mastic, according to Suffolk County Police. A Long Island driver accused of swerving across Sunrise Highway was arrested on a felony DWI charge after police found a 3-year-old girl inside his SUV, authorities said. Elmer Martinez-Serrano, 28, of Valley Stream, was driving a 2024 Honda CR-V westbound when officers saw him failing to maintain his lane at about 10:44 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, Nassau County Police said. Twenty-one dogs were removed from a Long Island boarding business after police found the animals in various stages of neglect, authorities said. Officers responded to 144 Shore Road in Manorhaven at 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, after receiving a report of sick animals, Nassau County Police said.
