Missing Fairfield Boater Found Dead On Westport Island WESTPORT, Conn. -- A missing Fairfield boater was found dead on Cockeone Island of the coast of Westport late Tuesday night, police said. The man has been identified as William Sapone, 61, of Fairfield. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy as investigation into his death continues, police said. Sapone was reported missing in Fairfield on Tuesday night by his wife, and the search continued into Westport. Carver Students Depart Norwalk For 45th Annual College Tour NORWALK, Conn. -- A group of Norwalk students from the Carver Community Center boarded a chartered bus Sunday for the center's 45th annual spring College Tour. The students and their chaperones will head first to Washington, D.C., during the spring break trip as they visit schools they aspire to attend. The tour will include stops at Howard University, Bowie State University, University of Maryland, Morgan State University, Coppin State University, Delaware State University and Wesley College. Ridgefield Police To Say Goodbye To Retired Canine Zeus RIDGEFIELD, Conn. -- The Ridgefield Police Department will say goodbye Wednesday to Zeus, a retired canine who served with the department for eight years. Zeus is an 11-year-old German Shepherd who will be euthanized Wednesday as a result of his severe degenerative disorder. Zeus retired from the force May 20 due to this issue, and his health continued to decline since then. He joined the department in 2006 and was partnered with Officer Shawn Murray, with whom he continued to live with after his retirement. Mallozzi, a lifelong resident of Darien and former president of Bob's Sports Inc., died on Saturday, April 11. The son of Robert E. and Caroline Chianelli Mallozzi, he was predeceased by his only sibling, Edward Ralph Mallozzi in 2012, and was married to his wife Phyllis Andrea Mallozzi for 54 years. His son, Robert E. Mallozzi III, is the first selectman in New Canaan. Mallozzi graduated from Darien High School and the University of Vermont. Norwalk Man Charged With Fighting Officer During Drug Arrest NORWALK, Conn. -- A Norwalk man was charged with fighting with a police officer and drug offenses Monday evening after he was spotted with a blunt on a city street, police said. Shakha Moore, 21, was charged with assault on a peace officer, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, sale and possession within distance of a school and interfering with an officer. Westport Man Charged With Drug Possession After Medical Call WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Westport man was charged with drug possession after officers found heroin when they responded to a medical call, police said. Andrew Vaitruardrok, 25, was charged with possession of narcotics. He posted $1,000 bond and will appear in court April 21. Westport Police Charge Sandy Hook Woman With Harrassing Attorney WESTPORT, Conn. -- A Sandy Hook woman was charged in Westport with harassment of a local attorney, according to police. Katherine Sullivan, 50, was charged with second-degree harassment. She posted bond and will appear in court April 20. Woman Charged With Causing Disturbance At Norwalk Grocery Store NORWALK, Conn. -- A Stamford woman was arrested at a Norwalk grocery store Sunday after police said she caused a disturbance while demanding a receipt for items she didn't buy.
