CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - Chappaqua has several events going on this weekend for residents of all ages. There will be a concert, film premieres, CPR classes, the farmers market and more. Take a look below for the list of events:
- The Chappaqua Farmers Market will return on Saturday at 9 a.m. The market will continue to be held in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin on South Greeley Avenue.
- The Chappaqua Library is hosting its weekly Bridge and Scrabble Club on Saturday at 10 a.m. While bridge play is not for beginners, all levels are welcome for Scrabble. The club is free and open to the public.
- The Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville will be rolling out the red carpet at 1 p.m. on Saturday for about 100 young directors from Chappaqua. Seven Bridges Middle School students will be premiering their own movies, which are 2-3 minute interpretations of Franklin D. Roosevelt's speech, "The Four Freedoms."
- The Chappaqua Library is offering one-on-one help in accessing free library materials on e-reader devices. The tutorials will be offered every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. during January.
- The Chappaqua Volunteer Ambulance Corp is offering residents a first-hand lesson in first aid on Sunday, when a community-wide CPR class will be held for all New Castle residents. There will be a morning session from 10:30 a.m. to noon., and an afternoon session from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Both will take place at the CVAC Headquarters at 233 N. Greeley Ave.
- The Harlem Wizards basketball team will return to Horace Greeley High School at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday to take on a competing team of Chappaqua teachers, staff and administrators.
- As part of its Sunday Concert Series, the Chappaqua Library will be welcoming Don DuPont Big Band to perform at 3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
