15-Year-Old Accused Of Making Threat Against School In Region, Police Say A 15-year-old teen from the region has been charged with allegedly making a terroristic threat against a school. On Sunday, Sept. 3, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a threat being made via Instagram against the Eldred Junior and Senior High School in the town of Highland. Working with the State Police, and the District Attorney’s Office, deputies executed a search warrant at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 at a residence in Barryville and another in Eldred where they confiscated an electronic device and took a 15-year-old into custody, said Sullivan County Undersheriff …

Third Family Member Dies Following Drowning Incident In Region A third family member has died following a drowning incident in the region. Nasrin Amin, age 21, died Saturday, Sept. 10 at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, said New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel. Nasrin was with her brother and uncle at a vacation rental home on White Lake in the town of Bethel when the incident took place around 2:15 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28.
