'Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over' Campaign Launches Across NY State ‘Tis the season for cracking down on drunk driving. Starting on Wednesday, Dec. 13, and lasting through Monday, Jan. 1, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that the New York State Police would join in on the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. During the campaign, additional patrols will be out on the road, and DWI checkpoints will be set up to ensure any person driving under the influence is taken off the road. New Service Area On I-87 Featuring Lots Of Amenities Opens In Hudson Valley Motorists in need of a coffee or a pit stop can now enjoy that and a lot more at a new service area on I -87 in the Hudson Valley. The new service area in Ulster County, located in the town of Plattekill, (is now open to the public. The location is the sixth new service area to open on the New York State Thruway as part of the $450 million project to redevelop and modernize all 27 thruway service areas, said the New York State Thruway Authority.
