Man From Region Slashes Barber, Cuts Own Throat, Police Say A man from the region is behind bars after allegedly slashing a barber numerous times with a knife and then cutting his own throat on a local street. The incident occurred in Ulster County in the 600 block of Broadway at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in Kingston. According to Chief Egidio Tinti of the Kingston Police, Gunercindo Diaz-Diaz, age 41 of Kingston, was spotted by a New York State Trooper with a knife to his neck on a city street. Man From Region Nabbed For Sex Abuse, Police Looking For Other Victims, Cops Say Police are encouraging anyone who may have information or who was abused by a man charged with alleged sex abuse to come forward. Ulster County resident Steven Lopez, age 34, of Kingston, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 1 with persistent sex abuse for forcibly touching a victim against their will.  According to Kingston Police, Lopez has been arrested at least twice for the same type of crime in the past 10 years. Following his arrest, Lopez was released to the Pre-Trial Released Program with Ulster County Probation, police said. Kingston Police are asking anyone with information, or …
