Pilot Killed In Small Plane Crash Near Albany Airport - Developing This story has been updated. A woman was killed when a small plane crashed near an airport in New York. Emergency crews in Albany County were called at around 8:15 a.m. Monday, June 17, for a small plane that was seen "spinning around" before crashing in Colonie, near Albany Shaker and Maxwell roads. The scene is in a wooded area just south of Albany International Airport.  Crews arrived to find the plane fully engulfed in flames. IDs Released For Pilot, Passenger Killed In Small Plane Crash Near Westchester County Airport The identities have been released of two people who were killed after a small plane crashed near Westchester County Airport. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 near the airport in White Plains. The wreckage of the single-engine Beechcraft A36 was found just west of the airport near Rye Lake (marked in red in the image above). The two were en route from John F.
