Schools Evacuated, Searched After Teacher Receives Bomb Threat In Westchester A middle and high school in Westchester were evacuated and searched by authorities after a teacher was emailed a bomb threat, officials announced. Students at both Pelham Middle School and Pelham Memorial High School were evacuated and dismissed early on Monday, Nov. 20 after a teacher received a bomb threat over email, Pelham Superintendent Cheryl H. These Westchester High School Seniors Named Regeneron Scholars Thirty-two high school seniors from Westchester are among the top 300 scholars in the Regeneron Science Talent Search 2023, regarded as the nation’s oldest and most prestigious scholastic science and math competition, the Society for Science announced on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The 300 will be awarded $2,000 each and their schools will be awarded $2,000 for each enrolled scholar. Westchester Woman Who Died At Age 38 Had 'Loving Heart, Zest For Life' Loved ones and former classmates are mourning the loss of a Westchester County woman following her death at the age of 38. Larissa Acocella, of Pelham Manor and Manhattan, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, following a “long illness which she fought courageously,” according to her obituary. Acocella was a 2002 graduate of Pelham Memorial High School and later attended Fordham University in New York City. Richard Almstead Jr., of Mahopac, died on Saturday, Feb. 5, according to his obituary.
