Condominiums Go Up In Flames In Northern Westchester Early Morning Blaze
A condominium complex in Northern Westchester erupted in flames, prompting a wide response from firefighters. The fire happened early on Thursday, Jan. 5, around 2 a.m. at the Hillcrest Park Condominiums in Peekskill located at 5 Rolling Way, according to firefighters. Dog Dies During Northern Westchester House Fire
A family dog was killed in Northern Westchester when a basement fire broke out and rapidly spread through the rest of the home, officials said. Fire crews responded to the house fire at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, as smoke could be seen billowing from the residence in Peekskill, located on Westchester Avenue. A home under construction in Putnam County was destroyed when a fire broke out early on Friday, Dec. 13. Officials said that a home being built on Canopus Hollow Road went up in flames at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday in Putnam Valley. A dump truck collided with a driver over the weekend, causing a diesel fuel spill in the area that required a hazmat response and temporary road closure. House Fire Breaks Out At Building In Northern Westchester
Volunteers with the Peekskill Ambulance Corps helped with two Westchester County fires over the past week, including one at an abandoned house.The fire, at 928 Second St., in Peekskill, broke out about 5 a.m. Thursday, officials said. About 40 firefighters responded to the scene, which kept the ambulance corps busy provided cold water to keep them hydrated, said the ambulance corps on Facebook.
