Prior to that she worked at a chain of weekly newspapers on Long Island's North Shore and as a freelance writer for Yankees Magazine. She has a Master's Degree from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. When not working, she enjoys reading, running and spending as much time as possible with her husband and two sons.

North Castle Library Looks After Mind - And Body ARMONK, N.Y. – The North Castle Public Library has always looked after its patron's minds, but Wednesday it will be hosting an event to help care for resident's bodies as well. The library, 19 Whippoorwill Road East in Armonk, is hosting a discussion on doTERRA Essential Oils. The program will discuss how essential oils work with your body's natural chemistry to provide safe and effect care. The oils can work to help enhance mood, promote sleep, strengthen an immune system and manage weight. The event is scheduled for 12 p.m.

Laura Doherty will perform at 6:30 on the third floor of the library. Doherty found her place in the acoustic-folk world early on, picking up the guitar at age 16. Before recording her own original children’s music, she co-produced Old Town School’s Wiggleworms Love You and has recorded educational songs for Disney Sound, with indie rocker Ralph Covert of Ralph’s World.

Westchester Native Robert Durst Charged In Cold Case Murder SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Scarsdale native and millionaire real estate heir Robert Durst was arrested Saturday night in relation to a cold case in California, several media outlets reported. Durst, who lived in South Salem, is awaiting an extradition hearing scheduled for Monday morning, CNN reported.
