Briarcliff runners Lisa Goodkin and Benedicte Uguen completed the Boston Marathon before two explosions halted the race Monday.

An individual spotted Wednesday morning on the hills behind Briarcliff Manor Middle School/High School prompted school officials to contact police to investigate, a message from the Briarcliff Manor school district said. Police concluded there was no threat and that the individual who was spotted was a student who left campus without permission, the district’s message said.

Briarcliff students in grades three through eight began taking the state’s English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics assessments on Tuesday.
