Bedford Village Shops Hosting 'Jingle Pass Weekend' BEDFORD VILLAGE, N.Y. - Bedford Village will be in full holiday mode starting Friday with the annual Jingle Pass Weekend.At 4:30 p.m., Friday, residents are encouraged to gather on the Village Green to sing holiday songs and join in on the countdown for the tree lighting. Hot chocolate will be handed out at the fire house at the beginning of the event. On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Bedford Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Mistletoe Mart. People's Caucus In Briarcliff Announces Nomination Process BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. - The People's Caucus is starting its nomination process for the two open positions of village trustee that will be voted on in March 2016. The positions of two village trustees will be up for a term of two years. Any member of the Caucus may seek nomination for endorsement as the Caucus’ candidate in the March election for village offices. Palen Road In East Fishkill To Temporarily Close EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- As a part of the ongoing bridge work on Palen Road in East Fishkill, the road will be closed to drivers on Thursday Dec. 3 and Friday Dec. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The Dutchess County Department of Public Works (DPW) will be placing concrete between the recently constructed bridge decks at this time. The road work depends on weather and work conditions over the next several days. Once Palen Road has reopened, Bridge E-9 will be open to one-lane of traffic through the use of a controlled traffic signal.

FDR's Hyde Park Home Gets Dressed For The Holidays HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- Springwood, the home of Franklin D. Roosevelt is getting decorated for the holiday season and prepping for an open house on Saturday, Dec. 12. The house is a National Historic Site and is open year-round, seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also on the National Park site is the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum, operated by the National Archives. Parade Of Lights Returns To Wassaic For The Holidays WASSAIC, N.Y. - Wassaic will be filled with lights and holiday cheer, as the annual Parade of Lights returns to town on Sunday, Dec. 13.The Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting Santa at the Wassic Fire Department at 3 p.m. The parade will start at 4:30 p.m., and line up will begin at 4 p.m. at Luther's Barn. Darien's Local Channel TV-79 Is Now Streaming Online DARIEN, Conn. — Darien residents can now watch their favorite town board and commission meetings streaming live on the Internet.“We used to be available only on Cablevision and only to subscribers in Darien,” says TV79 General Manager and founder, David Dever. “But now anybody can watch our programming on any device … computer, tablet or smartphone … and see the same stream of programming as on our cable TV channel.” In addition, all TV79 programs are archived on its Vimeo channel, for on-demand viewing online. Pleasantville Psychic Predicts Terrorist Attacks PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - After predicting the recent attacks in Paris, local psychic medium Francine Tesler is predicting some attacks closer to home.Her recent predictions suggest that terrorist attacks may target some of America’s biggest cities and states. Cuomo Tightens DWI Offender Punishment In New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo approved a bill that would work to ensure that all who are repeat DWI offenders have ignition interlock devices installed in their cars. The ignition interlock, a breathalyzer type device that requires drivers to blow into the device before the car will turn on. According to an article on NY State of Politics, the bill was approved following an audit from State Comptroler Tom DiNapoli found that of the more than 53,000 devices installed were compliant only 25 percent of the drivers were compliant with the law.
