Snow Arrives in Armonk

ARMONK, N.Y. - Snow started falling in Armonk early Saturday in the first significant storm of the season. Armonk police didn't report any serious incidents as of Saturday afternoon  beyond a small number of trees that had fallen.

A winter weather advisory for Armonk is in place until 6 a.m. Sunday and will include not just the white stuff but high winds and perhap power losses. The temperature will hover near 35 degrees Saturday with winds traveling at up to 32 miles per hour.

Armonk will accumulate an inch or more of snow before nightfall Saturday, according to forecasters. Snow banks as high as seven inches may greet residents when they awake Sunday. Nightime winds could approach up to 45 miles per hour but are expected to die down to 15 or 18 miles per hour by Sunday and temperatures may rise up to 46 degrees.
