That old axiom is traditionally applied to real estate.
But it also is applicable to weather.
Case in point the start-of-spring storm that arrived in the area late Sunday evening.
It's expected to result in between 4 and 8 inches of snow on Long Island, with higher amounts farther east.
But most of the Hudson Valley is now projected to get a trace to 2 inches accumulation, with 3 inches possible in extreme southeast Westchester.
Areas farther north, including Dutchess, could see little or no snow.
Despite the low accumulation totals, slippery conditions are likely for the morning commute Monday throughout the area.
Snow is expected to taper off by 9 a.m. Monday. Cloudy skies in the morning will brighten in the afternoon, with a high temperature in the mid to upper 40s.
