Sunday's high temperature will climb to the lower 50s before a cold front arrives late in the afternoon.
Temperatures will fall quickly enough to result in the freezing of standing water on roadways and other untreated surfaces, according to the National Weather Service.
Patchy black ice is also expected to develop Sunday evening as temps fall through the 30s into the 20s.
There is a chance of snow showers Sunday night, with little or no accumulation expected.
Motorists should be aware of potentially icy travel Sunday evening, the National Weather Service warns.
The overnight low temperature will plummet to a low of between 13 and 15 degrees under clear skies with wind-chill values between 5 and 10 degrees.
Monday will be a sunny but frigid day with a high temperature in the upper 20s a the wind-chill factor between 5 and 10 degrees.
