Northern Westchester Firefighter Serving In Navy Hospitalized After Boating Accident
A firefighter from Northern Westchester who is currently serving in the US Navy was seriously injured after a boating accident while on patrol. Rico Suarez, a member of the Peekskill Volunteer Fire Department, was injured in the accident while on patrol in the state of Washington, according to an announcement by the department from Sunday, Jan. 22. Don’t fall for this T-shirt scam. That’s the message from fire officials in the area, who are warning of people selling t-shirts on the website MaxMin, claiming that proceeds benefit local fire departments. In a new Facebook post, the Peekskill Volunteer Fire Department showed an online listing for a t-shirt that features an American flag and a fire department logo. Dog Dies During Northern Westchester House Fire
A family dog was killed in Northern Westchester when a basement fire broke out and rapidly spread through the rest of the home, officials said. Fire crews responded to the house fire at approximately 11:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, as smoke could be seen billowing from the residence in Peekskill, located on Westchester Avenue.
