NY Woman Among 3 Killed In Avalanche In Washington State This story has been updated. A 60-year-old New York woman was among three climbers who were killed in an avalanche in Washington State. The incident happened Sunday afternoon, Feb. 19, in the central Cascade Mountains near Colchuck Lake, located 70 miles east of Seattle, according to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office.
