Nearly 7,000 new allocations of the COVID-19 vaccine being distributing to locations throughout Westchester during the eighth week of the state’s vaccination program. Each week, the federal government supplies New York with between 250,000 and 300,000 doses of the vaccine - with more on the way - which are then distributed to different regions based on population. An alert has been issued for potential exposure to COVID-19 for those who visited a church in Westchester. A person who tested positive for COVID-19 attended a confirmation ceremony at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church on Bradhurst Avenue in Hawthorne on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 10:30 a.m. Everyone who attended rehearsals on Friday, Sept. 25, the confirmation ceremony, wedding ceremony and evening mass on Saturday are advised to consult with your doctor, the church said. Westchester Man Killed After Falling While Clearing Ice From Roof
A Westchester man died after slipping and falling while trying to clear an ice dam off of his roof, said Mount Pleasant Town Supervisor Carl Fulgenzi said. Filippo Cangialosi, 68, fell on Monday at his home on Stonegate Road in Valhalla, Fulgenzi said. "It's very sad when something like this happens," Fulgenzi said. "With the amount of snow and ice that we have had, it's best to leave this type of specialty work to a professional."
