Raging Fire Destroys House In Mahopac A raging fire gutted a Mahopac home on Monday as fire crews from several departments worked to extinguish the blaze.  The call for the fire came in around 1:15 p.m. Monday, March 10 for smoke coming from a home on Barnett Hill Road in the Mahopac Falls section of Carmel, said officials with the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. Carmel Police arrived on the scene first and confirmed a visible fire from the home.
