Five Firefighters Injured In Two-Alarm Blaze At Waste Management Facility In Westchester
Five firefighters suffered injuries on Tuesday morning as they battled a blaze that broke out in a Westchester waste management facility. Fire crews responded to the A-1 Compaction facility at 325 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, where the fire sent smoke soaring through the windy conditions. Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Flynn said that upon arrival, firefighters found a heavy volume of fire that had been started in a garbage fire. A two-alarm fire broke out at a Waste Management facility in Westchester, sending smoke billowing through the area. Fire crews responded to the A-1 Compaction facility at 325 Yonkers Ave. in Yonkers shortly before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, where the fire sent smoke soaring through the windy conditions.
