'Loud Boom' Heard In Hudson Valley: Police Investigating Police searched an area in the Hudson Valley for evidence of an explosion after several residents reported hearing a mysterious loud booming noise, authorities said. The possible explosion was reported by residents in Putnam County on Saturday, April 14 just before 9 p.m., when both the Carmel and Kent Police Departments received calls reporting a loud noise in the Lake Carmel area. Intruder Caught At Animal Hospital In Hudson Valley A woman faces charges after illegally entering a Hudson Valley animal hospital during its overnight hours, police said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Friday night, April 12, when a woman illegally entered the Carmel Animal Hospital at 235 Route 52, according to Carmel Police. A detective soon found the suspect near the hospital and arrested her. The suspect, a woman whose name has not yet been released by the department, was charged with: Third-degree criminal trespass; Possession of burglar's tools. She was later released with a future court date.

Retired Police Sergeant Who Served For Decades In Westchester Dies A police department in Westchester has announced the death of one of its former members who spent his life serving his community and country.  Dutchess County resident Andrew Fischer, Sr., a retired Eastchester Police sergeant, died on Tuesday, April 9 at the age of 84, according to his obituary.
