PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Summer is approaching and many students (and their parents) are looking for ways to make this summer count. Dr. Lisa Krissoff Boehm, Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences at Manhattanville College explains how Westchester students can do just that.

Why Summer@Manhattanville?

Manhattanville College is the perfect place to take summer classes. We offer learning opportunities for a variety of majors taught in small, highly interactive classes. Classes are scheduled throughout the day and evening, offering great flexibility to work, intern or enjoy summer activities and open to residential as well as commuter students.

Why do students take summer classes?

Summer classes are a great way for a student to boost their GPA, fulfill requirements, lighten their semester course load, and stay on track to graduate or to just try an interesting course.

Who can take summer classes?

Classes are open to students home for the summer attending other colleges, current students and high school students looking to experience college and strengthen their admission’s applications. We offer credit and non-credit options.

Which are some of the most popular classes offered?

Classes that meet requirements are always popular such as chemistry, calculus, creative writing, languages and psychology. Communications and media classes are also very popular.

Share some of Manhattanville’s unique offerings.

We are offering so many interesting classes this summer! There is a wonderful Art History class- the Art of Ancient Egypt and one of our English classes will focus on the Jazz Age.

What are the starting dates?

There are two summer sessions. Summer session one runs from May 31 to July 1. Summer session two runs from July 5 to August 5. All classes are held at Manhattanville’s beautiful and convenient campus in Purchase.
