Republicans throughout the county suffered a string of losses, starting with Astorino losing to Democrat George Latimer by 14 points and being denied a third term.

On the county level, Republican incumbents Francis Corcoran, David Gelfarb and Sheila Marcotte were defeated, leaving Democrats with a 12-5 majority and control of the county executive's office.

In Yorktown, Pound Ridge, Rye city, and Peekskill, Democrats swept municipal elections, knocking off incumbent Republican mayors and supervisors. In Yonkers, Democrat Mike Khader defeated Republican Liam McLaughlin for Council President.

In town board races, Democrats in Lewisboro knocked off two Republican incumbents.  In White Plains, Mayor Tom Roach easily turned aside a challenge from Milagros Lecuna, who was running on the Republican line.

One of the few bright spots for Republicans was in New Castle where Supervisor Rob Greenstein was re-elected to a third term. Despite running on the Republican line, Greenstein identifies as a Democrat.
