New York State Police troopers were dispatched to I-684 following multiple reports of an erratic driver on the roadway. Once at the scene, police tracked down the vehicle, being driven by 50-year-old New Windsor resident Anthony Mathis, which was traveling 15 mph over the posted speed limit.

During the subsequent traffic stop, troopers said that it was determined that Mathis was under the influence of alcohol, and he was in possession of 61 grams of Oxycodone and four concealed daggers that were on him.

Mathis was arrested and charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon. He was also cited for driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

Following arraignment, Mathis was remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail. He is due back in the Town of North Castle Justice Court on Wednesday to answer the charges against him.
