Special Rosh Hashanah Menu at La Mer, Main Street

ARMONK ,N.Y. – Many of  Armonk’s food stores on Main Street have expanded their menus to accommodate catering for Rosh Hashanah, including Loaf Bakery, Country Kitchen, The Bagel Emporium, and La Mer seafood.

La Mer owner Ed Wechsler embraces holidays because they’re helpful in terms of a business point-of-view but, for him, there’s more to it than that.

“We’re giving back to the community,” Wechsler said. “This is a time of year that people need a very specific item presented a very particular way and we do our best to make it as traditionally as possible to meet their needs.”

Wechsler estimates, by the end of Rosh Hashanah, La Mer will have sold 600 lotkas, about eight gallons of apple sauce and 500 gefilte fish.

“Our biggest holidays are still Christmas and New Year’s but Rosh Hashanah and Passover and Yom Kippur are very busy times as well,” Wechsler said.
