After appearing on Saturday night's episode of "America's Most Wanted," police say they are still no closer to finding missing Edgemont resident Lauren Spierer. The Edgemont native, who just finished her sophomore year as a fashion student at Indiana University, disappeared June 3 after heading home from a party.
Bloomington Police stated that there are still no suspects, however, several persons of interest have sat through polygraph tests and given DNA samples. While police have not received information from all 10 persons of interest, they said they plan on contacting the remaining few in the coming week.
Police said that they will not provide specific information about how the case is progressing, including their security camera findings. Nevertheless, they divulged that Spierer was last seen on camera between 3:15 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. just north of 10th Street in Bloomington, Indiana.
Police reported that they have checked into the areas' sex offenders registries, but did not take anyone into custody.
Although police are still collecting information, the support for Spierer's return has not relinquished. Volunteers are still coming from across the nation, although their searches have lessened from thrice daily to twice, at 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Spierer's parents, Rob and Charlene, once again thanked supporters for their tireless hard work. A $100,000 reward is still in place for the person who provides information leading to Spierer's return. Charlene Spierer implored the wrong-doers to step forward and cast shame on them for taking her daughter.
