The burglaries occurred between Oct. 31 and Nov. 5 on Mamanasco Road in Ridgefield, which is located 2 miles from Windswept Farm, the 300-acre property in which Colley was found dead late Monday afternoon.

Police have ruled the cause of death to be blunt-force trauma.

Lois Colley's death and the Ridgefield incidents do not appear to be connected, but state police are exploring the possibility because of the close proximity of the crimes and the timeframe in which they occurred, the lohud.com report said.

A knife-wielding man forced his way into a home in one of the Ridgefield burglaries, according to this previous report from Daily Voice.
