Missing Person Alert Canceled For Missing Man With Dementia

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Update: The alert for Douglas Fithian has been canceled. No further information was immediately available.

An 81-year-old man with dementia has been reported missing and could be in Westchester County, according to the Division of Criminal Justice Services. 

Douglas Fithian was last seen traveling eastbound on Route 203 from the Village of Chatham at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Thursday in a 1996 dark blue Chevy Lumina bearing New York registration CFF-8255, officials said. 

Fithian is a white male, standing 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighing 139 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing dark jeans with black suspenders, a black jacket, black scarf and knit hat, hiking boots and glasses.

Fithian may be in need of medical attention.
