Main Street Connect Westchester Launch Party Video

Main Street Connect celebrated the launch of 32 news sites in Westchester County with a party June 1 at 42 The Restaurant in White Plains. The company, with advertisers, dignitaries and movers and shakers of Westchester County were in attendance. Check out the video above for a taste of the night and what's to come.

Main Street Connect, a national community news company, opened its first local site in Norwalk, Conn., in March, 2010, and followed rapidly with sites for nine other towns in southern Fairfield County. The sites currently reach 60 percent of the households in their Connecticut coverage area, with readership climbing every week. On May 19, the company purchased the popular CentralMassNews, which covers nine towns. The unveiling of  32 new sites in Westchester County June 1 was the largest media launch of its type in the nation.

MSC founder Carll Tucker describes the sites as "digital town greens," where neighbors come together to find out what's going on, share their news and information and have a good time. "Our advertising tagline is 'Come Home,' he says. "We're reviving the concept of a real hometown newspaper, this time in a digital format."
