Days Before Dying, Westchester Mom Urges Family Time

Just five days before succumbing to a battle with cancer, Scarsdale mom and teacher Debra Heyman Leitner shared an important message on her Facebook page:

"There is nothing better than time with your family," the post says, with two pictures of her loved ones.

Leitner is survived by her two sons, Ryan and Jaxson, and her husband, Kenny.

More than $95,000 had been raised for the boys on a GoFundMe as of Sunday afternoon.

"A wonderful friend to all who were privileged to know her," her New York Times obituary says.

Services were last weekend.
