The New York State Assembly rejected a bill that would allow all movie theaters to begin serving alcohol. Currently, only movie theaters that offer table service are allowed to serve alcohol.
Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers and iPic Theaters in Dobbs Ferry are the only theaters in the Hudson Valley with food and drink service.
Though the measure was supported by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, Democratic lawmakers said they were concerned about children being around alcohol. Theater owners and breweries have been pushing the legislation, saying it would help their business.
