Karl F. Steude, 88, Of Oakland

OAKLAND, N.J. – Karl F. Steude, a resident of Oakland, died Saturday, June 4. He was 88.

He was born June 9, 1927, in Garfield, N.J.

He graduated from Garfield High School, then joined the U.S. Marines. After an honorable discharge, he worked at the Okonite Cable Company in Paterson for four decades. He dedicated his life to his family and to community service. He was a member of F&AM Masonic Lessing Passaic Lodge # 67 for more than 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughters Diane Wood and Linda Remmert; son-in-laws Richard and Dennis; and granddaughter Christine Remmert.

He was predeceased by his parents Karl H. Steude and Margarete Steude.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Oakland Memorial Home, 330 Ramapo Valley Road, Oakland. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, followed by a burial at Ponds Reformed Church Cemetery in Oakland.
