Man Fatally Shot In Newark: Prosecutors A 52-year-old Newark resident was fatally shot on Thursday, July 27, authorities said. At 6:11 p.m., police responded to a shooting on the 300 block of Wainwright Street and found Eddie Boykins suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Boykins was pronounced dead at the scene, Stephens and Fragé said. Seen HIM? Person Of Interest Sought In Newark Homicide The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is asking the public's help identifying a man seen leaving the scene of a fatal shooting in Newark last month.  Faheem R. Muhammed, 27, was found shot multiple times around 7:45 p.m. in the area of 409 Lyons Ave. Oct. 7. Muhammed was pronounced dead at University Hospital shortly afterwards.  Authorities have identified a person of interest, who was last seen in surveillance video running north on Wainwright Street.
