Around 6 a.m., Linden police responded to a shooting at Maximum Quality Foods at 2251 Tremley Point Road, officers said in a release. The victim was shot multiple times, police said. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition, police said. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival, officers said. The incident is under investigation, police said.

At 7 a.m., police responded to reports of a train derailment near Tremley Point Road and found an industrial tank railcar stopped on the tracks near the Conrail Garden State Secondary line at Road to Grasselli, officers said.
