Police ID Pedestrian Struck, Killed After Climbing Over Route 9 Barrier In Central Jersey Sayreville police have identified the 49-year-old pedestrian killed when he was struck by a vehicle after climbing over a concrete barrier on Route 9. Scott Munk, of Hamburg, NY, was struck at about 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 22 in the 900 block of Route 9 North as he tried to cross the highway, according to Sayreville Police Lt. James Novak. Munk had jumped the barrier and was struck by a passing vehicle, Novak said. The driver remained at the scene and has not been charged, the lieutenant said on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The crash remains under investigation.
