3rd Accused Crew Member Busted By Glen Rock Police In $3,650 CVS Cosmetics Thefts
UPDATE: A third member of an organized crew was charged in connection with the theft of nearly $3,650 worth of cosmetics from a Glen Rock CVS in separate trips, authorities said.
Maria Lacerna-Fernandez, 35, of Paterson, participated in the shopliftings at the Rock Road pharmacy on May 19 and 24, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said on Tuesday, June 20.
Detective Sgt. James Calaski initially arrested Carla E. Granda-Jara, a 37-year-old resident of the Silk City, with help from his colleagues in Fair Lawn earlier this month, the chief said.

Gotcha! Organized Couple Busted By Glen Rock Detective After $3,650 CVS Cosmetics Thefts
A Glen Rock police detective nabbed an organized pair of thieves -- one from Elmwood Park, the other from Paterson -- who swiped nearly $3,650 worth of cosmetics from a local CVS in separate trips, authorities said.
Detective Sgt. James Calaski identified Carla E. Granda-Jara, a 37-year-old resident of the Silk City, and Ricardo E. Campos-Bardales, 42, following the May 19 and May 24 shopliftings at the Rock Road pharmacy, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
Calaski arrested Granda-Jara with help from his colleagues in Fair Lawn last Thursday, June 8, the chief said.

Update: Ridgewood Driver In Glen Rock Crash Was Drunk, Police Charge
A Ridgewood driver was drunk when his SUV hit two parked vehicles and landed on its side in Glen Rock, authorities said.
Jason R. Romine, 40, was rescued through the moon roof of his 2002 Ford Expedition by Glen Rock Police Officer T. J. Graziani following the crash at the T intersection of Rock and Midwood roads shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
The pickup, a nearly 20-year-old Honda CR-V and a newer-model Honda Accord were all towed from the scene with extensive damage, witnesses said.

Glen Rock PD: Hawthorne DWI Driver Hits Fence, Fountain, Trees -- And House
A Hawthorne tax consultant was drunk when his car careened off the road before dawn, damaging a Glen Rock homeowner’s fence, fountain, trees and grass before hitting the house itself, authorities said.
Brian Taveras, 25, of Hawthorne was headed south on Lincoln Avenue when the crash occurred just before 2:30 a.m. Friday at the corner of Rock Road just across the border from Hawthorne, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
