Morning Rush: Hackensack Crash Sends Two To Hospital A two-vehicle morning rush-hour collision at a busy Hackensack intersection sent two people to the hospital, responders said. Both were taken to nearby Hackensack University Medical Center following the crash outside the Prospect Ridge Apartments at Prospect and Central avenues shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday, April 22. The extent of their injuries couldn't be immediately determined. City firefighters, police and an HUMC ambulance responded. Police were investigating the cause.

Scooter Rider Critically Injured In Passaic Crash An electric scooter rider was clinging to life Tuesday morning after being struck in Passaic, responders said. Witnesses said the late-30s victim ran a red light and was struck by a minivan at the intersection of President and Parker Streets shortly after 10:30 a.m. He was unconscious when taken to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, responders said. The driver, meanwhile, remained at the scene and cooperated with police, who notified the Passaic County prosecutor's fatal accident team. City firefighters and EMS also responded.

Heroes: Trees Fall On Englewood House With Heart Attack Victim Inside Two trees fell on an Englewood home during Tuesday afternoon's storm, blocking responders' path to a resident who'd just suffered a heart attack, authorities said. Englewood Police Officer Matthew Depetro hopped a railing to get inside the East Linden Avenue carriage house, where he found the unconscious 50-year-old victim shortly before 2:30 p.m., Deputy Police Chief Gregory Halstead said.
