Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Route 21 In Newark, Officials Say

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Route 21 in Newark on Wednesday, May 15, authorities confirmed.

It happened at the intersection of McCarter Highway and South Street, closing the roadway between Pennington and Mulberry Streets as of 4:40 p.m.

Chief Assistant Prosecutor Tom Fennelley said his office is investigating.
