Shoe Salesman Turned Internist Wrote Himself Bogus Scripts For Years, NJ Authorities Charge
Sagy Grinberg could’ve been a modern-day success story. A former shoe salesman, he went to medical school in the West Indies, got married on top of Mt. Carmel and took a prized residency at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark.
Then things went sideways.
For more than five years, state authorities said, Grinberg forged other doctors’ names on nearly 70 prescriptions for oxycodone, Adderall, Xanax, Cialis and a bunch of other drugs – apparently all for himself.

The manager of a North Jersey doctor’s office stole prescription pads that she and her boyfriend used to collect more than 4,000 Percocet from local drugstores, authorities said.
Detectives from the Wayne Police Special Operations Unit zeroed in on Luz Valle, 53, and Javier Sanchez, 48, both of Paterson, after the doctor alerted them to “someone illegally passing prescriptions in the doctor’s name at multiple pharmacies,” Detective Capt. Dan Daly said.

Paterson detectives smashed an Eastside drug operation, arresting several people and seizing 5,182 heroin folds, a handgun and hollow-point ammunition, authorities said.
Investigators watched Monday as two men – one from Paterson, the other from Rockland – separately bought a combined 182 heroin folds at a house on East 27th Street, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
After arresting both, they obtained the necessary warrants and raided the house, Speziale said.

Paterson Couple Busted With Drug Trove: Cocaine, Ecstasy, Oxy, MDMA, More, Police Say
A Paterson couple were busted with a huge variety of drugs for sale, including three-quarters of a pound of cocaine and hundreds of Ecstasy, Oxycodone, Xanax and Percocet pills, authorities said.
Besides the cocaine, Police Director Jerry Speziale said Victor Melecio, 27, and 28-year-old IsaMaria Bonilla of Jefferson Street were caught with:
