More than 1,750 files depicting prepubescent child pornography were found on devices owned by a teenager, authorities in Bergen County said.

A Belleville woman has been charged with theft by deception after authorities say she stole over $70,000 from her Bergen County bank, including funds from a customer’s account.

Two New York men wanted in separate violent crimes were tracked down last month in Bergen County, thanks to the county's newly-launched Crime Suppression Team, authorities said.
The first arrest was made on Saturday, Dec. 21, when members of the team identified 51-year-old Randolph R. Smith of Far Rockaway, NY, who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in New York City, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A Westchester, NY man has been arrested for his role in a mailbox theft ring that plagued Bergen County for weeks, authorities said.
Edward Orozco, of Yonkers, was apprehended after a dramatic high-speed chase and a month-long investigation by the Wallington Police Department, Sgt. Brian Rosas said.

Two Bergen County residents were arrested in separate shoplifting incidents at a local ShopRite, police said.
The first incident at the ShopRite store in Lyndhurst occurred on Wednesday, Dec.18, around 4 p.m., when Frank Giuffrida, 49, was seen by store loss prevention staff placing multiple items from his shopping cart into his backpack, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. He then headed to the self-checkout register, where he failed to scan several items before leaving the store, police said.
