A kosher chef from Teaneck who appeared on the Food Network show "Chopped” was jailed after a grand jury in Hackensack indicted him on charges of sexually assaulting a child. Shalom "Sal" Yehudiel, 41, was arrested at JFK Airport last month when authorities said he tried to flee the country. He'd only just had previous child sex assault charges against him dismissed by a judge in Hackensack at the time. A suicidal man shot and killed himself in a car parked on a Teaneck street before dawn Monday, responders said. The 33-year-old man's estranged wife summoned police, who found him in his car near the corner of Bogert Street and Queen Anne Road near Votee Park around 3:30 a.m., they said. He pulled the trigger as officers approached, they said.
