Phillipsburg Native, Devoted Dad Dies, 45 Phillipsburg native and devoted father Charles M. Gugie died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Warren Campus on Tuesday, Aug. 30. He was 45. Born in Bethlehem, Charles attended Liberty High School, his obituary says. Charles worked in the maintenance department at Crothall Healthcare in Bethlehem, according to his memorial. He loved spending time in nature and watching Michigan football on television. Above all, Charles embraced his role as a dedicated father to his young daughter, Haily. Daughter: Special Ring Taken From Finger Of Dying River Vale Mom, 80 RIVER VALE, N.J. -- It was heartbreaking enough for a River Vale woman and her sister to lose their mom, at 80, to lung cancer a couple of weeks ago. Discovering that a special ring was missing from her finger while she was hospitalized just days earlier only deepened the pain. Frances Lang "got the ring from her mom when she graduated Dickinson High School in Jersey City in the 1950s," Diane Lang Van Saders said. Retired Passaic Valley High School Vice Principal Needs Kidney Donor Former Passaic Valley High School Vice Principal and Athletic Director Nick Sauter is in need of an organ donor after years of suffering from kidney failure. The Little Falls resident had been receiving dialysis treatments since January 2017. In May of that year, he contracted a blood infection that spread to his 21-year-old knee replacement. Due to consequent surgeries, the kidney transplant was put on hold. It's back on -- with a vengeance -- administered by his sister-in-law, Donna Tissot.
