Lidl Opening In Passaic County Shopping Center
A new grocery store is coming soon to a popular shopping center. Lidl, which is based in Germany announced it is opening in Totowa Commons. While an opening date has not been announced, the 27,270 square foot store is set to open sometime this year. This will be the grocery store's second Passaic County location, joining one in Pompton Lakes. The grocery store chain has 22 locations throughout the Garden State.

ShopRite Opens At Former Site Of Shuttered Bergen County K-Mart
Attention, K-Mart shoppers in Bergen County. You have a new place to shop. ShopRite celebrated its grand opening at 180 Broadway in Elmwood Park on Friday, Nov. 17. The location is the site of a former K-Mart, which shuttered in 2018 and was completely rebuilt by ShopRite. The 60,000 square foot store is run by Inserra Supermarkets and features a bakery, prepared food, a butcher, and seafood, deli and floral departments.

Whole Foods is rapidly expanding across the U.S. with four stores planned in New Jersey. The locations are slated to open in Jersey City, Woodcliff Lake, Wayne and Skillman, its website says. Paterson Man, 21, Shot On City Street Corner
A 21-year-old shooting victim ducked into a Paterson grocery store and called police after being shot on Friday, authorities said. The victim, a city resident, was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center with a bullet wound in his ankle after responding officers found him in the store at the corner of 10th Avenue and East 28th Street shortly before 5 p.m. He'd apparently been shot a block or so away, responders said. ShopRite of Bloomfield is going with the flow when it comes to social distancing protocols. The grocer on Sunday debuted its one-way aisles to improve traffic flow amid the spread of coronavirus. Developers of the Stop & Shop property on Route 17 in Paramus are hoping to have a new grocery store and dining options approved by borough officials next month. An Applebee's, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell and Spuntino Wine Bar & Italian Tapas would open in five free-standing buildings proposed for the site, currently leased by indoor sports facility The Arena, NorthJersey.com reports. Fresh Market is set to shutter the doors of 15 stores in several states as it moves forward with its turnaround plan. The specialty grocery chain announced that it will be closing its locations in nine states over the next several weeks following “analysis of long-term growth,” according to the company. H-Mart officials are hoping to open the Paramus location either this month or next. Corporate employees told Daily Voice they are still in the planning phase and will have a grand opening date in the near future.
