Shock mixed with profound sadness as word spread that a heart attack cut down a man who was known to be as kind as he was powerful. He was only 61. Retired State Trooper Suffered Medical Episode Before Route 287 Crash: Family, Police The driver who died in a crash on Route 287 in Morris County this week has been identified as retired New Jersey State Trooper Kevin Hanrahan.  Hanrahan, 61, was heading north near milepost 31.4 in Harding Township around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, when he ran off the road to the left and struck a metal guardrail, New Jersey State Police Trooper Charles Marchan said. Andrew Hazuda Of North Haledon Dies, 27 Wayne native Andrew Hazuda died on July 29 after a long illness. He was 27 years old. Andrew had lived most of his life in North Haledon and was a graduate of Manchester Regional High School. There, he served as captain of the baseball team and a member of the football team.  He also played football for Bergen Catholic High School.
